Senior School

Arnold Lodge School continues a child centred approach to learning right through to GCSE at Year 11. Our aim is to fulfil individual potential and encourage the very highest standards of achievement at GCSE, thus preparing our pupils for VIth form and beyond. Our academic record is impressive and your child will be challenged and supported in sitting all examinations. We do not prevent children sitting examinations to ensure the school's place in league tables is artificially enhanced.

Pupils entering the school at Year 7 and beyond are required to attend an assessment morning comprising a written exam and interview which takes place in early January. In addition all applicants must come in for a taster day at the school prior to the assessment morning. An offer of a place will be based on the outcome of both the assessment morning and taster day. There are scholarships available for academic excellence, music, sport and art of up to 50% of the school fees.

Arnold Lodge provides a broad and balanced curriculum and a range of approaches to learning to accommodate the individual needs and learning styles of our pupils. Pupils are set in all academic subjects. Small teaching groups give each child the opportunity to receive personal attention. Teachers and pupils work closely together to set targets and ongoing action for success.

Our exciting and challenging pupil enrichment programme, regular field trips and cultural visits, sporting fixtures, debating evenings, concerts, community work and huge variety of lunchtime and after school clubs enable our pupils to discover their capabilities and skills outside the classroom and prepare them for the responsibilities and experiences of adult life.
