Years 1 & 2
In Years 1 and 2 our children build upon the skills and experiences they have encountered during the Foundation Stage (Kindergarten and Reception). The learning is still based in a largely social atmosphere, but greater formality is gradually introduced with pupils following the full range of curriculum subjects by Year 2.

The small classes and the individual attention children receive from a close knit team of teachers and classroom assistants, mean that teaching can be differentiated and each child can be set individual challenges. Pupils visit places of educational interest throughout the year and are encouraged to join an ever increasing variety of lunchtime and after school clubs to broaden their experience including junior disco, seasonal crafts, sewing, tennis and science club in addition to the clubs offered in Reception. Physical activities play an important role with the children enjoying a PE session, games session and swimming lesson every week.
